We have a regular 5gal compressor and a hand pump, this Dewalt pump adds perfectly to our ensemble. I used it as soon as it arrived to check all the tires on our Toyota Highlander. The auto shutoff when set pressure is reached is super handy. The multi power option (battery, 12v vehicle, or plug in) is fantastic, we will be using this when we travel for extra peace of mind. It has a handy flashlight as well, AND it can be used to inflate mattresses, balls and other stuff. My only drawback is it is a bit noisy, but compressing air generally is. I used it with a half charged 4ah battery and it did 4 tires effortlessly. This DOES NOT come with a battery.

Very satisfied with this purchase. Couldn’t be more straightforward. Screw on the air hose, turn on the power, and read the exact tire pressure. Then, set the wheel selector for the exact desired pressure. I was never very good at using or reading the traditional stick tire gauges. I seemed to lose air before i ever got a reading and couldn’t trust the number i thought i saw. This inflates quickly to exact pressure selected.I happily went to all the tires I could find—lawn tractor, wheel barrow, bicycles. As for the a/c adapter not included, just order one for $45. Whatever. Though I expect the 20v batter (also an additional cost) will be my primary power source.

Very happy with the Dewalt Tire Inflator. I had previously bought a different company’s tire inflator for use with my car, but I disliked it because the wire connecting it to my cigarette lighter was not that long, it was very loud and slow, and did not sit steadily on the ground when in use. I had none of those problems with the Dewalt Tire Inflator. Plus, I could use it standalone (not connected to the car) when I used it with a 20V Dewalt battery that I already had. I also appreciated the adapters provided for other inflatables like balls and bikes provided in the packaging. Great pump, very easy to use.

There are a number of tools I have for my old Mercedes that I know I will use maybe once every year or longer. But when you need them you need them.Tools such as one to pull the instrument cluster.I’ll check my tires at least once a month. That should be standard procedure for everyone. Came across one last week where it was down to 18 pounds and took it in to have the leak fixedWhen service stations did car repair work they all had nice big air compressors for their air tools and of course hoses to fill tires.Remember when every island by the gas pumps had a hose for water for the coolant and a air hose for the tires? Those days are long gone, with the disappearance of repair shops in service stations. If a self-serve station has an air compressor at all it’s some dinky little thing in the back and most want $1.50 for three minutes to fill your tires. And that’s if the thing works. And of course I spent a number of years running around the car trying to fill each tire before the time went outAnyway a friend told me about this little portable Dewalt air compressor. It arrived yesterday and I spent today just filling the spare tires of my cars. That’s some thing that virtually everybody ignores, including me. And of course the worst time to find out it’s low on air is when you need it out in the middle of nowhere. One of them that hadn’t been checked since new, 11 years, was down to 10 pounds when it should’ve had 61 pounds . And of course normally when you find that out it’s when you need itOne thing I advise when you’re getting this get the bigger battery. I got the middle one at 4 A/h.The only thing that surprised me a bit is after filling these three spares today – the usage light on the battery was down to two from the three. so I suspect if you’d had the standard battery I pretty much would’ve used it all.The other thing that surprised me is how accurate the built-in pressure governor is. Set it to 33 pounds and it automatically fills it to 33 pounds and then stops. I verified it with my hand-held digital tire pressure gauge.Another nice feature that I had to figure out? Every hose I’ve ever used do you have to keep it pressed into the Schrader valve. This one just screws in and you just leave it alone while the compressor does its thing. It’s a nice thought-out feature. So my summary is that this is a worthwhile investment that you will probably use at least every monthYou can’t even depend on the car’s tire pressure monitoring system to give you an accurate reading. The one on my 2011 Mercedes is 5 pounds optimistic. I suppose what it is still good for is detecting a massive leak. And the federal government mandated these for newer cars because people don’t check their tire pressure. And why is this important? A low pressure tire is in danger of a blowout with the added heat not to mention a degradation in handling. So I am glad that I got this finally.I’ll even take it on long trips because looking at that little dinky spare tire in my 2011 Mercedes and the hassle of changing it to a spare it would be nice to have a pump just to pump it up with air and get you do a tire shopThis is a tool that I know I will use on a regular basis.Edit 12-5-22 as I am typing this I’m sitting in an Elko Nevada hotel room. I had taken the 2011 on a 2000 mile trip to Minneapolis. And on the way back I had a tire issueAs it turns out I really did use the air compressor. The other day in Wendover Utah I came out the next morning and the rear tire was completely flat. Now that alone would’ve taken out a good part of the day being it was in a motel parking lot. call AAA wait a number of hours-& since the things completely flat they probably have it towed somewhere unless they have air compressors. incidentally the spare is this little donut thing that I wouldn’t drive the remaining 500 miles on. Anyway out came the Dewalt and in about three or four minutes the completely flat tire was full and used another bar from the batterySo why am I in Elko? I wanted to get the flat fixed and then trying to take it off the rim the machine tore the sidewall and of course there was not another Perelli tire in my size in Elko Nevada so I was having to wait until Monday for one to be deliveredAnyway on a trip I am not going to leave this

I have owned a Dewalt 20V Max Tire Inflator for seven years. It is kept in the trunk of my car and goes with me every where. I have had to use it on 2 two thousand mile road trips over the years. First time was when driving home from Texas and lost tire pressure in one tire driving through Mississippi. The second time back in December of 2022, driving to Texas and had a tire flat due to the valve stem falling inside of the wheel which resulted in a damaged tire. The spare tire needed more PSI to be worthy of getting me to my destination which was the last 30 minutes of my road trip. I have had to use the inflator back in early 2023 a few times with faulty valve stems that where installed on my after market wheels at Discount Tire. After 3 out of 4 tires got damaged from poor valve stems, I finally took the car to another shop that installed factory valve stems and TPMS sensors on my after market wheels. Since then, no problems and no more trips to Discount Tire to get a new tire and valve stem replaced under warranty.Tire inflator is easy to use. Paired with a 4 AH battery, it can inflate a single car tire a few times or keep all four tires topped off multiple times before the battery needs to be recharged. If the battery dies during the inflation process, the 12V DC cord can be used to finish the job. The turn dial is nice to quickly set the desired PSI needed to inflate a single tire or multiple. The auto shutoff feature has never failed on my unit. Its LED light has been handy when needing to inflate a tire at dusk. I have never used the high-volume inflation and deflation mode on this unit.If you do not like threaded chucks, LUMETICO makes a good tire inflator hose adapter that threads easily into the tire inflator hose chuck. This makes inflating tires quicker and easier.I have purchased a second Dewalt Tire Inflator on here for my truck. Hope the second unit gives me trouble free usage for multiple years like my first one.

I convinced our small nonprofit to buy this inflator a couple of years ago and I got a lot of pushback over the price (we paid $130).Well, the other night, our Facilities Manager (an old friend) was using it on our company truck’s tires. He was bent over this inflator for a full minute, his head bobbing around. I was watching from the darkness a few feet away, talking to another colleague, when I heard the FM say: “Wow.” So I call out to him: “Something wrong?””No,” he said. “Actually, something’s very RIGHT for a change. I’m just SO IMPRESSED with this tool! The design is beautiful… especially this display and minimalist buttons and this knob, see? …it’s SUPER-easy to use… even has a light for when it’s dark like this… Y’know, I hate to admit it, but you were right when you said it’d be worth it to pay extra for this thing instead of that cheapie one I was pushing for.”Aaaannnd… there you have it, Folks. One of the most stubbornly opinionated guys I’ve ever had the genuine pleasure of working with recommends this. Look… if HE likes it — and he’s picky about all kinds of mechanical stuff — then you will also like it. QED.DW really does put a lot of thought into how they design things and I’m betting they took in a lot of feedback to end up with something so ideal for use in both normal and adverse conditions… Remember: the moment you need to use this, it’s very likely because the SHTF and you urgently need to blow something up (you fellas can read that however you like, oorah). Just reach for the easy-to-find “yellow thing” in the back of your vehicle and: hit the huge power button to turn it on (or the “light” button if it’s dark); take a quick squint at the big, bright, super-understandable display that tells you how badly you let your tire get low; and spin the dial to set your target pressure. Then, just hit the “Play” button… (they really did make it look like a music “play” button… clever).Starting from the shape, like a little old-school lunchbox, it’s got all the bells and whistles: there’s a collection of different tips for inflating all kinds of things, from inflatable boats/rafts to {NSFW} dolls (as well as for DEFLATING things, like your camping mattress). They’re all right there, firmly clipped to the end. And there’s a little door on the other end for the power cord, in case you need to run it in your house or RV. The main air hose is sturdy and thick and it has a standard tip for car tires/etc that screws on really easily. When you take it off, it let’s a tiny bit of air out as it releases, but don’t worry: the inflator automagically inflates the tire juuuust a bit extra so the escaping air won’t be a problem. When you stow the hose, it wraps around the unit and clips to itself very elegantly. The top handle makes this lightweight unit easy to carry and it contains the bright LED worklight (Ladies, take note: if you’re stuck by the side of the road in a rainstorm with a low/flat tire, this is a gret tool). Last but not least, the unit is extremely portable (I recommend getting the soft-shell case) and powered by DeWalt’s 20V batteries. So, it shares the same power source as all of (y)our DeWalt power tools and we can always pop one of those batteries in when necessary. When something is this good at what it’s for, I just feel an urge to compliment the people who made it and encourage folks to get one so others can see what American ingenuity can produce. It might be made in China, but I’m pretty sure a team of Murrikins figgered it out and drew it all up. AI will not replace us if we keep on making cool gear like this. OK, maybe AI could make it 30% lighter and 3D print it, but I rest my case.Happy trails, y’all.

Prior to buying the Dewalt, I had tried two other inflators that simply did not have sufficient power. One unit was a small, walkie talkie sized device that was totally useless even for my bicycle. More recently I bought a $50.00 unit that resembles a power drill. It was listed as an Amazon favorite, but was really poor quality and would shut off intermittently. I sent it back. The Dewalt works perfectly and is easy to use; almost don’t need the instruction manual. Unlike the other compressors I tried, the Dewalt loses lass than 0.5 PSI to leak out when attaching or detaching it to or from the tire valve stem. The auto shutoff works perfectly and it adds 1/2 PSI over the shut off setting to account for the loss when detaching. After adding air to all four tires, I measured each tire with a high end gauge and the values were spot on.I’ve tried it out on a car, a vespa, and a motorcycle, but not an SUV, so I can’t speak to that. My impression is an SUV would not be a problem. I am looking forward to using the High Volume mode for my inflatable kayak when I pull it out in a few months. It has a high quality feel with substantial weight. My impression is it is going to be around for a long time.

Dewalt never fails to impress! This unit works like a charm, I was able to use another 20V battery that I had from a Dewalt drill purchase (from Amazon) a little while back! This unit makes noise but isn’t unbearable like others I’ve used (I’m guessing 50-60 decibels/not as loud as a vacuum); works quick, comes with all the attachments you need, is truly a plug and play device (if you have the battery). Also, props to my Amazon delivery driver that delivered it in the snow!

We purchased 4 of these! After my husband saw this pump up a 5th wheel trailer tire so easily he had me look it up and buy it while we were on a trip. You set a dial and it pumps up the tire pressure to what you dial in. It’s so easy to use! You can run it off a Dewalt battery or plug it into electric or your 12volt plug from your car roadside. One is in each vehicle the other two for family members. The speed of the pumping will surprise you, very efficient. The cord is long so you can use it easily. The tire pressure has a constant readout and stops when the tire pressure you put in is reached and it doesn’t take long to do it. It is perfect.

I’ve gotten some of those portable cordless tire pumps, but they either run out of battery too soon or take too long to inflate my car tires. A lot of them are off brands that while they have a detachable battery it’s hard to find or not worth getting an off-brand spare. While as a Vine reviewer I have tested a few of those, and they are OK. I wanted something more robust with easy to replace readily available batteries. I knew Dewalt was a popular brand that makes many cordless tools that I use. I noticed this didn’t come with a battery, but I have plenty that fit the bill, so I didn’t have to worry about having ready power. Additionally, it’s very powerful so standing outside on cold days inflating the tires is going to cost me less effort. This is a very simple device to use, not a bunch of selects like some chargers have with various pressure metrics. This uses PSI, plus there is no selection for a lot of different vehicles or tire applications, just a choice between inflation a blower. The two sides of the device have wrap arounds for their use. On the left facing front is a rubber high pressure cord with a fitting for tires. On the right side in a larger diameter flex hose for just blowing air. The display allows you to select tire or air which has a simple for a gust of wind. When blowing up a tire, a simple dial allows you to set the frequency, and the pump stops when it’s reached. Inside one of the side panels is a cigar lighter cord and plug in to use for connection to your car battery as a backup via the lighter port. So, you can use if the plug in battery is dead, or you don’t have one yet as it is not included. Dewalt 20V batteries are available in may sizes, and I like that I can put a bigger long lasting one to refill my tires without recharging in-between. Unit is not as light as the smaller ones but much more powerful and has a convenient carry handle. I when connected to a tire it will inflate it faster than most of the portables, and you can just sit it down as the connection hose is long enough to reach. Recommended.
